Presidential Debate
The Harris-Trump Presidential Debate will take place on Tuesday night, the 10th of September. The debate is hosted by ABC News and take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The debate is expected to be watched by tens of millions of expectant Americans. The debate will be 90 minutes long and have two commercial breaks. The stage is set for quite the debate, potentially the only one between Harris and Trump for the 2024 election. Both candidates, after some pushback from the Trump campaign, have agreed upon a set of ground rules. Firstly, the muting mics will make a comeback for this debate - only allowing the candidate with allotted speaking time to have a hot mic. There will be no closing statements, and only two minutes allowed for closing statements. Each candidate will only have a pen, blank paper, and a bottle of water at their podium. No prepared materials will be allowed behind or on the podiums.
In preparation for the debate, both candidates have been working vigorously with their campaign teams to craft pointed messaging and persuasive pitches. Key commentators have noted that the American people are looking for Kamala Harris to show her abilities as a Presidential-type and refrain from appearing as though she’s prosecuting Trump rather than debating him. As for Donald Trump, Americans and stakeholders are looking to him for a showing of refreshed clarity and veracity in his statements.
No matter the proceedings, this debate is sure to be a historic one indeed - a marker in the trail of what has already been an eventful and unusual campaign season.

New in Richmond
On a lighter note, we have the first of many dining and entertainment recommendations in RVA!
Today we are highlighting OMG OMPC - an oatmeal cream pie shop that elevates the classic southern dessert by matching mastery of the key elements with unique flavor combinations. The shop is located in the Shockoe Bottom neighborhood and inhabits an adorable redbrick building. They boast various flavors such as coffee, sweet heat, apple cinnamon, PB&J, and of course the OG. Personally, I am most excited to try the coffee flavor, hoping that the rich coffee will balance out the inevitable sweetness of the rest of the cookie. If you’ve been looking for a new local spot to help supplement your Crumbl obsession, OMG OMPC might be for you!
