Maggie Walker’s fashion magazine, Fringe, is a club centered around fashion and fashion journalism. The members of the club work to produce one to two issues of a fashion magazine each year. Each issue that Fringe puts out has a different, unique theme. The fall/winter issue, releasing in early March, centers around the theme “old is new.” This issue explores topics from the evolution of goth fashion to the best vintage shops in and around Richmond. Members of the club have different roles in the production of the magazine based on their interests. The writers author articles approaching the theme of the magazine from many different angles. Senior Georgia Freyer, current co-editor of the magazine, shares that being a part of Fringe made her love writing because she was writing about something she was interested in.

The photographers and the stylist of the magazine focus more on the editorial shoots for each issue. The editorial shoot allows student models and photographers to work together to create the imagery for the magazine. “My favorite part of being in the club is being surrounded by individuals who are just as interested in fashion as I am and seeing how they approach different issues,” said co-editor Ainsley McKay. Fringe is the perfect club for people who love fashion and want to express their different takes on everything from current trends to sustainability in the fashion industry.
